Mise en scene is used in frame seven through the facial expressions and body language which show us that the main character is scared. The lights have just come on and the main character has discovered the doll has moved and now suspects foul play and witchery. It is the frame where the main character begins to realise she is in deep danger.
This frame (frame eight) is used to show the panic and uneasiness of the main character after her revelation. It showcases the main character running out of the room in a desperate attempt to run away from the doll and the situation she’s in. Facial expression is used to show the above mentioned horror and panic.
Frame nine is seen from the point of view of the main character. It is when she has just turned back into the hallway and sees the doll has moved again into the hallway. It seems the doll has moved to scare her and also to cut her off so she doesn’t leave the house.
Facial expression is used in frame ten to convey the rising panic and also the confusion the main character feels due to the doll behaving paranormally. The main character turns the corner of the hall to convey the fact she is attempting to escape.
(Frame eleven) Dark Lighting is used to make the world seem darker and as if the setting has transformed for the main character personally. As if she saw the house with potential or as a fresh start and now sees it as a trap or an extremely dangerous area. It shows the main character at the start of another hallway, which leads to the front door. It shows the horror she is feeling.
Frame twelve shows the door shutting without anyone shutting it. It again puts forth the idea the house is alive. Diegetic sound is used when the door slams loudly. There would be non diegetic sound leading up to it in the panicked running the main character was doing. It would help build suspense and then it would stop after the door slams. Everything then goes quiet. End of the opening scene.
