- In Esperanza’s life one of the good things that happened to her was when she was very rich and her dad owned a lot of land.She and her family were at the top of the pyramid.The text says”Her father was a fruit rancher and they lived on the neighboring property”This is a peak because being rich and being on top of the pyramid is a good thing. You can have everything you want when you have money.
- Omg,this house is so big.
- Oh No,The babies are sick.
- Another Valley that happened in Esperanza’s life was when the babies were sick.In the texts it says that “They must be ill, worried Esperanza. Did they have the flu or was it something they ate?”(pg 142). This is a valley because The babies being sick potentially meant they could pass away and Esperanza was still dealing with the death of her father.
- Another good thing that happened in Esperanza’s life was when she was being nice to Isabel's best friend Sylvia. She remembered how her mother treated the Peasant girl on the train so she wanted to be nice to Sylvia.In the text it says“Esperanza looked down at Silvia’s dirty hands. Silva grinned up at her and Esperanza’s first thought was to pull her hand away and wash it as soon as possible. Then she remembered Mama’s kindness to the peasant girl on the train-- and her disappointment in Esperanza. She didn’t want Silva to start crying if she were to pull away. She looked around at the dusty camp and thought that it must be hard to stay clean in such a place.” (page 111-112).This is a peak because being nice to people is a good thing to do . It was a learning experience for Esperanza and shows how she has become rich in spirit.
