- Mayan Civilization!
- Ok class! Break up into pairs to do a research project about the downfall of the Mayans
- Psst! Wanna work together?

- I think we should do or project about the disease that was spread through crops
- Few Hours Later..
- No! I want to make our topic about warfare!
- What NO! Disease makes much more sense. Think about it, disease kills off more people a year than anything else.
- I don't agree at all! I'm going to go home and think this over
- Hey! I thought it over and maybe we should do disease.. through howler monkeys! Howler monkeys carried yellow fever and they could've spread it to Mayan people!!
- Maybe... but I doubt it. Let's meet after school
- Howler monkeys lived no where near the Mayan civilization and the climate was almost perfect for the "plant hopper" to live in. The enviorment was more sustainable for those insects therefore that was most like their source of disease.
- Listen.. I love your idea about the howler monkeys but research shows disease through insects in crops is more plausible.
- Disease.. Yes! Howler Monkeys.. No. Howler monkeys lived nowhere near the Mayans civilization, how would they have given them disease?
- In conclusion, disease through crops was the downfall to the Mayan civilzation.
- The insect called the plant hopper possibly spread a dangerous disease with no cure through the crops of the Mayans, (one of their main food sources) infecting the people and killing them off.
