- First in the immigration process, you pay the people to get on the boat and sail off. If you didn’t have the money, they would kick you out or send you back.
- After that, the immigrants go on the boat and sailing for as long as 14 weeks or 3 months or 98 days to be exact. While on the boat, it was a struggle because of the horrible smell and people getting sick. Some people died on the way.
- The second step of the immig is the arrival. Many people were happy and crying to see this because they knew they were finally there. It was also a beacon of hope that shows that all of there struggles are gone because they are here.
- The third step to the immigration process was that they’d bring all of their bags and luggage’s to the inside of Ellis Island. They would also get checked and such like health, records, etc.
- For the last step of the immigration process, families and couples meet up here and they call it the kissing booth. This is where families and couples would reunite and live their new lives in America.
