This impacts Ji-Li because she was super excited to do the audition and maybe even become a Liberation Army soldier. Ji-Li was crushed to find out that she couldn't do the audition. She had to tell her teacher but she was embarrassed to say that she couldn't because everyone expected her to pass the audition but now, she couldn't even do it.
This impacts Ji-Li because she was shocked that someone wrote a da-zi-bao about her. She thought that she didn't have anyone against her and she didn't know why anyone would do this to her. Her parents told her to stay home and she became sick. Ji-Li didn't want to go to school anymore, especially with things like this being written about her.
This impacts Ji-Li because the Red Guards searched their house and messed everything up. Along with that, they took Ji-Li's stamp collection which was the most valuable thing to her. The Red Guards tore up their entire house and everything was unorganized and ruined.
