- Now here are the next two problems. The first one is 3x + 6 = 18. First you subtract 6 by 6 and 18 by 6. You cross out the 6 by 6 and solve 18-6 which is 12. You then bring down 3x and divide 3x by 3 and divide 12 by 3. Cross out 3x and 3 on the left and solve for the right in which x = 4. Since you know how to check, write it down in your notebooks since I don't have room.

- To solve number 7, add 2 on both 2 and 78. Cross out the 2 + 2 and solve 78 + 2 which equals 80. Then bring down the 40x and divide 40 on both 40 and 80. Cross out 40 / 40 and divide 80 by 40 which equals 2. So, x = 2.
- 8. 50x - 11 = 89

- To solve number 8, we add 11 on both 11 and 89. Once again, cross out 11 + 11 and solve 89 + 11 which is 100. Bring down the 50x and divide 50 on both 50 and 100. Cross out 50 divided by 50 and solve 100 / 50 which is 2. So, x = 2.
