Sarah has just moved to a new town and will be starting a new school. Her dad is a single dad who has just gotten a job in a new town. This neighborhood isn't like their last, it is a predominately white neighborhood.
After recess Sarah talks to her teacher about feeling left out and not feeling apart of the community. Her teacher explains to her that her classmates are just scared of change.
Your classmates are scared of change. Trust me, they will come around and start to understand just because you are different that doesn't make you bad.

Over the next few weeks, Sarah's classmates start to come around and pick her for activities.

By the end of the year Sarah has made good friends and her friends now understand how they could have welcomed her better in their community.
