- “Rome is an amazing place if you have money. For example,
- “Life is great in the Roman Empire!”
- Not for all of us! What’s so good about your daily life?”
- Well… I never even had the opportunity to go to school! My parents sent me off to work because they can’t get enough money to support our family!
- I was tutored by my father and slaves untill I was six, then I was sent off to school to learn Latin, Greek, math, science, literature, music, and public speaking.
- Maybe so, but with the money you can buy great foods like snails dipped in milk.
- Although that may be true, if you’re like me you can hardly afford a few chunks of fish and asparagus! While you get to eat your luxurious foods all I get for dessert is a measly fig!
- The only thing me and my family can afford to live in is a lousy apartment without a kitchen, that is full of disease and constantly catches on fire!
- Don’t be so ungrateful, the Romans built such magnificent houses for all of us! Our houses are built out of stone and marble, and we get to have an atrium where I host my dinner parties.
- I would if I could afford to be seated in those areas. I can only afford to be seated on the uncomfortable wooden benches that are directly in the sun!
- If your home is so insufferable, why not take advantage of the luxurious entertainment complexes, like the Circus Maximus and its cushioned benches?
