  • By studying his way through university, Astrid is thinking of the job he wants that would meet his wants and financial needs as he gets older. This depicts Aristotle's argument of how in order to achieve “the good,” man needs to think rationally and logically by developing a plan for living that unites all their various purposes.

  • The final end to the meaning of life is to live a successful, happy life. By studying, Astrid is thinking ahead of time as going to school is a means to another end because he’d work for a degree, so he could get a nice job. And these are the means of making money, which can then be used to buy shelter and food to support his bodily and external needs.

  • teleology is an example of how humans can reach their full potential, understand their internal compass, and reveal what they're intended to be!
  • now that Astrid has completed university, and took the knowledge he learned to practice it out in the real word, he can now live happily. because Aristotle believes that when humans act rightly and possess both intellectual virtues and virtues of character, that they can finally live the 'good life.'
  • astrid can use his qualities of courage, temperance, justice, humanity, and wisdom in the real world. qualities he gathered from university! :)
  • dude! nancy wheeler just dropped her wallet with $600 inside! i wanna keep it.....
  • dude... u know u have to return it. she could probably really need it...
  • although Brian clearly did not want to return Nancy's wallet, he still did and this is because brians ethics and morals guided him to return the lost money. a person that lacks morals would have kept it. its vital that people continue to do what is right simply for the sake of it being right and not hoping to gain anything out of it in return. by returning the wallet, brian defends his integrity and fulfills his duty of being responsible and respectful toward his peers, schoolmates, and society as a whole.
  • here's your wallet nancy. you dropped it outside of the store yesterday....
  • omg! thank you so much brian
  • kant suggests that it is also vital that in order to live the 'good life,' people must live with the idea of practical certainty. this includes God, freedom, and immortality.
  • kant suggests that society must look at people as human beings and not a method of gaining something from them. because ethics are discovered in our everyday private life and autonomy, Brian has went by example of living the 'good life' according to kant because he leads with ethics and morals that have guided him to do what is right.
