- Marcus notices a woman indistress and makes it his responsibility to assist her. by doing this, he reveals generosity, kindess, respect and caring qualities
- is everything okay? can i help you to some water, shelter, or emergency help?
- Levinas suggests that every time we see a new face, we are seeing an imprint of God. any encounter with another calls us to respond in a kind and accepting manner. by offering this random lady with assistance, he practices Levinas idea of living the 'good life.'

- God asks of us to act and treat people with dignity because that person carries pieces of God with them. within a stranger, you can see their purity and desires and this translates into the responsibility for the other. 
- the catholic catechism 1755-56 focuses on the entirety of ones act and how it is good. a morally good act requires goodness to be found in the person, of the end, and the circumstances
- an evil end will always corrupt the 'good action'
- 1755-56 argues that it is an error in judgement to only consider the intention or circumstances that inspires someone to do good because the outcome of such acts can lead to an outcome of tragedy, intentional or not.
- an example of this would be when clarke from the 100 freed her friends that were held prisoner inside of a bunker by bad men, however, by opening the door to the bunker, clarke exposed every bad man inside to high levels of radiation that killed them. although clarke was able to save her friends from dying, she still took the lives of many in the process.
