  • Romans painted frescoes. They used water-based paints.

  • The arches and structure on this building are very commonly used in Rome.

  • Roman engineers built roads with many layers. They used stone, sand, and gravel.
  • Frescoes are a type of mural. Romans painted them on a moist plaster. They usually illustrated three-dimensional landscapes and/or scenes.

  • Stoics believed that a divine intelligence ruled all of nature and that a person's soul was a spark of this divine intelligence. Stoics believed that maintaining a good character was the key to life.

  • Romans believed that every person had rights and should be treated the same. However, like many others, they did not live up to that. The rich were treated much better than the poor and/or slaves.
