Going on, Odysseus and his men held candle wax in their ears to keep them from succumbing to the sirens' seduction.
I'll insert candle wax in your ears, so you can bind me up, so we can go through safety procedures.
Two sirens were chatting on their way there as soon as they arrived, so Odysseus and his men braced themselves for the sirens' singing.
This way or turn your bows, Achaea's glory, all the world allows, Moor and be merry.
The sirens got ready and started to sing for the men in the ship.
Sweet coupled airs we sing. No lonely seafarer, hold clear of entering our green mirror
Odysseus was having a difficult time as the sirens sang, to the point that he wished to be untied by his men.
Men, untie me! Please I can't resist myself
Pleased by each purling note like honey twining from her throat, who lies a pining?
His men, on the other hand, did not listen to him because they were focused on the oars.
I want to hear them, untie me, untie me please!
Sea rovers here take joy voyaging onward, as from our song of Troy Graybeard rower-boy Goeth more learned
Odysseus couldn't bear not hearing the sirens because he was amazed by their appearance.
Untie me! Don't just stand steady to the oars! I want to hear the sirens
