- This shows that Amal was at the shop getting some stuff and one her way back she was hit by a car. She saw someone and did not know it was Jawad Sahib and disrespected him and the people in the crowd were shocked.
- "The next, I slammed backward onto the ground. A car. Black with darkened windows. How did I miss it? How wrapped up in my mind was I not to notice a car? The door opened and footsteps approached. I took in the clean- shaven face, the closely trimmed hair, and the eyes hidden by dark sunglasses(Saeed 49)".
- "The familiar stretches of brown and green path work Earth I had known all my life swept past me in a blur before transforming into plush manicured green as the car slowed down and the driver turned onto a gravel road lined with shade trees. When the estate materialized in the distance, only the second-story windows and balconies were visible from behind the huge brick wall surrounding it.
- This shows that when Amal was getting drove by Jawad Sahib's driver, Ghulam, she arrives at Jawad Sahib's house and notices the setting and describes it.
- "And they were slapping handcuffs onto Jawad Sahib's wrists. 'This is a mistake,' Jawad Sahib screamed. 'My father will speak to you. He won;t forget your names.' 'We imagine so,' one of them said. 'We brought him in a few hours ago for questioning(Saeed 214)'.
- This shows that Jawad Sahib was getting handcuffed by the police for crime and was trying to get out of the trouble.
