- the golden days of late October ( to me I think of the sunset, golden days coming to a end)
- as bleak November's iron skies descend. ( to me I think the character misses the cold chilly air November had it made him happy
- stanza 12-14"All times of summer fade, as fade they must.Embrace what time remains; it will not last.Your autumn, too, will soon be ancient past.the type of poetic device I have seen used is alliteration and assonance.
- when tresses, like the leaden clouds, have grayed (to me I think of it as a metaphor when someone says enjoy your hair color because it will turn grey its a meaaphor because the cells in the tree start to die like the cells in hair
- we see our fruitful time's approaching end. ( to me I think of it as the season is ending and you will not see it until then.
- the sunlight that besieged us with its heat (to me I think the author is talking about the season change after fall is spring which means warmer, hotter weather.the theme of this poem is change is overwhelming
