I am from a town far from here. They were so many rules and they were going to kill Gabriel, so I had to steal my father's bike and escape with him. Where are you guys from?
We are from a village in a dessert called Isiuwa. It is surrounded by dunes and whistling gods that supposedly kill you if you try to leave, but they brought us here. A long time ago, our moms escaped, but we didn't go with them. So, we just escaped to fnd them.
So where are you from anyway?

It is a lot better than Isiuwa here. In Isiuwa, everyone had to be the same. Everyone had to follow the weird rules that the Chief and the elders set.
Yeah, this is great. In my old village, everything was very gray and there were so many rules. Initially, I didn't mind them, but then the Giver game me these wonderful memories.
This is our village. We have been living here since the whirlwind brought us here and reunited us with our moms.

Yeah, it is great that we were both able to escape and find/keep the things that we care about.
It seems like we both were in societies with a lot of pressure to fit in and an oppressive government.
