- Two sisters named Bianca and Katherine are young girls but are labelled by the public as shrews. Bianca is young and is seeking true love. But Bianca is not allowed to marry until her older sister has herself. The problem involved is that no one has the desire to marry the beautiful woman because of her title as a shrew. A few men had already been eyeing Bianca,which made her even more frustrated than before. Here come Bianca's and the disguised schoolteachers. And with them is Petruchio, ready to see the rich shrew Katharina
- CLIMAX
- Katherine has . Kate has pretty much been forced into this engagement by her suitor, Petruchio, he is and will be the only one to marry her. Her father has happily agreed to this marriage and this has made Bianca very happy. Petruchio even used reverse psychology on Kate and her family. And has constantly told citizens that she is very affectionate alone with him but has to keep her reputation out in public. Kate yells, I'll see thee hanged on Sunday first (pg 33), which describes her hatred for him develop.
- FALLING ACTION
- Now it is Kate and Petruchio's wedding day, which ended horribly. He showed up late and showed up in the ugliest and most colorful outfit ever seen. All of this made Kate so angry and just wanted to be free form this engagement. He made the afternoon even worse by kissing Kate is such a disgusting and loud manner that made the whole chapel gasp in disgust. As soon as they had become husband and wife, he had started to command and restrict her from the choices she wanted to make for herself. Baptista forcefully says,Why, sir, first we were sad, fearing you would not come. Now, sadder that you come... and eye-sore.(pg39)
- RESOLUTION
- After they had taken the long trip to their new home as husband and wife. He had treated her horribly at the start and has not stopped being a jerk since they got married. He would not let her eat or have anything that she ever wanted. His excuse was that nothing was good enough for her and so he had a tantrum every time she wanted something for herself. She had her own room and her own bed but she was being starved of food and living her own life. What, did he marry me to famish me?(pg 46).
- After months of becoming a real wife, Kate has heard news that her younger sister has gotten engaged. Now she has to do the journey back to her fathers home. Bianca is marrying a person she actually loves and cares for. She had to get married in private though which was not ideal but good enough for the two lovers. Kate is ready to be back home and show her father the new Kate. On the highway, Petruchio is still teasing Katharina. And at last she begins to give in (pg 52).
- Now that Bianca and Lucentio are married, their post-wedding party can begin. During they celebration, the men decided to set wagers on their wives. After the first two men didn't succeed, it was Petrucio's turn. Not even 1 minute after been asked for Kate had come and she had the two other wives by their ears. After letting the women go she goes into a monologue about how wives are supposed to help, clean, and support their husbands. Kate and Petruchio went home with about 250,000 dollars in their pockets from the wager. Thy husband is thy lord, thy life, thy keeper. I am ashamed that women are so simple to offer war, where they should kneel for peace.(pg 61).
