- The miracle occurs. The pitcher drops and soon shatters. Just as the light changes so does Helen's face, struggling to say some. Her lips trembling, muscles attempting to work.

- Water. W, a, t. e, r. Water. It has a -name-
- Something inside her is reborn. Finally, there comes a child struggling to speak after all these years. With great, painful effort and struggle, words come out of the quiet mouth.
- YES!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!
- Wah. Wah. Wah. Wah.
- Helen repeatedly spells it into Annie's hand and even plunges her hand into the pitcher. Annie attempts this with various other words to test her understanding which Helen flourishes at and perfectly repeats.
- Yes! Oh, my dear! Ground. Pump. Yes!
- Annie quickly spells every word she possibly could think of. Soon, Helen touches the trellis in the house out of pure joy and happiness and whirls to touch anything.
- Step. Trellis. Mrs. Keller!!!
- Mr. Keller and Mrs. Keller are shocked from this improvement. They kneel down looking at Helen, so proud of how far she has come. Annie continues to spell into her hand, and Helen continues to spell it back, acknowledging her understanding.
- Mother. Papa-She knows! Teacher.
- YES!!!
- Annie finally says the important words everyone was waiting for. The words to prove their unbreakable bond, that would never be lost. The words she previously was haunted by, the words of her brother.
- I, Love, Helen, forever, and , ever.
