Storyboard Text

  • Slide: 1
  • When it comes to personal experiences. I grew up living with the societal expectations and demands from the people around me and the society as a whole.
  • This became my main struggle in navigating and shaping my identity as I struggled to meet their expectations.
  • Slide: 2
  • But thankfully, I have met some friends who have helped me in going outside that boundary. I have learned how to face those expectations with the things that I can only do and I did not let them hinder me in becoming the person that I want to be.
  • My friends have their own experiences and stories to share where the lessons that they've got enabled me to apply them in my daily life. Despite of the differences in our perspectives and cultural heritages, we shared same minds, hearts and passions in shaping ourselves to became the people that we want to be.
  • Slide: 3
  • And those things made me realized that I have to be the start of change. I will continue to preserve our cultural heritage in a sense that I will pass our traditions and customs and will share them with the people around me. Including the preservation of our language. I will continue to use our Filipino Language and will disseminate its significance in our identity to the young individuals like me.
  • But upon sharing them to others, I would also remind them that, it is indeed important to maintain our cultural heritage, but it is also important to assess ourselves, we must not let those societal expectations to hinder and blocked us in expressing ourselves. And to make this happen, I will explore other cultures so I would be able to understand their way of living and expressing themselves that I will be able to use to comprehend the importance of embracing differences.
