- The assassination of Franz Ferdinand, caused the trigger required for the war Austria released an ultimatum which was unreasonable 
- War
- Austria was worried that Russia would step in for Serbia's help in case of war and its military power would be too much. therefore they went to Germany for help and Germany agreed to help in case Russia helps Serbia.
- European powers joined
- Before the war had declared Russia had already mobilized, This was because they thought that if serbs were not protected by Russia they would be considered laughing stock.
- Why was this War different
- War was declared by Austria when their Ultimatum was rejected, Germany however were unaware until the final moments about the war, where as Russia was already mobilized
- Britain, Belgium , France all ordered Austria to leave Serbia alone when they denied that they raised arms so Germany and Austria were fighting against 4 major European powers.
- World War I was like any other war previously started with horses but by the end of this they used tanks. This was the first time countries used all their industrial and economical power on war. This was the first time mankind used all their scientific resources to kill.
