Well now we are in the ocean! not at the lake tho.. But I've read about this in a book! The water does something and falls into the Earth.

What Poppy is trying to say is Condensation. All air contains water molecules in the form of water vapor, which is an invisible gas. Condensation happens because of temperature changes.
