Hermia is forced to marry Demetrius by her Father Egeus, despite being in love with Lysander. Helena, who is Hermia's best friend, is in love with Demetrius, but he loves Hermia. Lysander's love is Hermia, but they are prohibited from being with each other as the duke wants his daughter to marry a man of wealth and importance.
CLIMAX
Hermia and Lysander sneak out to the forest of Athens to get married behind Egeus's back. Demetrius wants to prevent them from getting married, and since Helena is in love with Demetrius, she tells him their plan of getting married in the forest, trying to make Demetrius fall in love with her.
FALLING ACTION
While Puck, a fairy in the forest, tries to enchant Titania to fall back in love with Oberon, he accidentally enchants Lysander and causes him to fall in love with Helena.
DENOUEMENT
With the men fighting over Helena, and Hermia mad at Helena, Puck manages to separate them all so they don't end up killing each other. Once they fall asleep, Puck reverses the spell and rights his wrong.
The Duke, while riding in the forest, comes upon the lovers. After hearing their story, he is confused, but invites them to be married during his wedding ceremony.
In the end, everyone is married! The play “Pyramus and Thisbe” is performed, and Puck ends the play by asking the audience to remember it all as if it were a dream!
