  • February 23, 1836 most of what was left of the men holding down the Alamo were attacked by Santa Anna's men. An estimated 1,800-6,000 men. Overwhelming odds for the estimated 189-200 men that held up in the Alamo. It was a sad day. Well known men like Davy Crocket, James Bowie, and William Traves lost their lives, that day.
