- Haden brother, Ben Edwards, wrote angry letters to the Mexican government

- They wanted to free there colony from Mexico's hold
- But he said no and helped the Mexican government stop them.
- So they passed the law of April 6, 1830 to stop anymore Anglo- Americans from coming into Texas
