- Frenche and Indian War 1651, 1660:The war began over territorial disputes in the Ohio River Valley . It involved British colonies and their Native American allies fighting French forces and their Native American allies. Britain faced significant debt from the war leading to increased taxation of the colonies. Many colonists were frustrated by the Proclamation of 1763, feeling entitled to land they had fought for.

- Sugar Act of 1765:The Sugar Act was enacted by the British Parliament to reduce the existing tax on molasses but aimed to enforce stricter collection and prevent smuggling. It affected merchants and traders, leading to economic strain in colonial commerce. - Boston Tea Party of 1773:A group of colonists, including members of the Son of Liberty, disguised themselves as Mohawk Indians and boarded three British ships in Boston Harbor. They dumped 342 chests of tea, valued at approximately 10,000, into the water. The British government responded with the Coercive Acts (Intolerable Acts) in1774, which aimed to punish Massachusetts and tighten control over the colonies
