- Stella has a hard time accepting things for what they are, "How could she leave the people that still longed for her.... That was the part that Jude could never understand"(Bennett 267). Jude felt that it was horrible of Stella to leave everyone she loved behind for a new life. This is something that she continuous to think about and let go.

- In the novel, Jude proves herself to be a determined person, "Jude abandoned the popcorn station and followed, pushing people through the crowded lobby to the door"(Bennett 277). When she saw Stella leave the theater and step outside she though it was time for her to get thee answers she felt she finally deserved.
