- Cellular repsiration is a set of chemical reactions by which certain organic compunds are degraded by oxidation to become molecules.
- In other words , cellular respiration is the way in which cells get the energy to live and it consists of three phases.
- the first phase is where macromolecules, such as starch, triacylglycerols and proteins are digested into smaller molecules.
- What do they become?
- Starch turns into glucose, triacyglycerols turn into fatty acids with glycerol, and proteins turn into amino acids.
- What about phase 2?
- This is where the molecules obtained in the first stage are transformed into acetyl CoA.

- In the 3rd phase, Acetyl CoA enters the krebs cycle, which is where the CO2 introduces itself and where thanks to reducing equivalents that are used in the electron transport chain, we create water (final product).
