- What kind of person are they?
- As Lyson comes into the kitchen Rose asked," You gonna stay for supper, Lyson? I got some chicken cooking in the oven" (Wilson 19). Of what the reader sees in Rose's character is that see is very motherly and caring to the people around her. There are many types of love languages but one of them is acts of service and in this scene Rose is showing love by cooking and asking Lyson if he wants some food.
- What effect do they have on others?
- During Rose and Troy's fight Cory comes in,"Cory comes up behind Troy and grabs him. Troy, surprised, is thrown off balance just as Cory throws a glancing blow that catches him on the chest and knocks him down" (Wilson 68). During this scene Cory is trying to protect Rose because Rose is always protecting him in other scenes. Because of Rose's caring personality and her being his mother Cory feels the need to protect her against his own father.
