- Every building has its own story, so here's the story behind this old abandoned house. It's quite unusual but interesting too.This old house is located in Texas in the United States of America. It was build in the early 1890's by a gang leader, named Bill Williamson, who wanted to hide his gang and his money there after having robbed a large bank. It is a small, wooden house which could host five people at the most. Well, here's the story behind it.In the early 1890's, Bill Williamson, a well-known bandit and his gang robbed a large bank in Texas and left the place with 50.000$! The local sheriff called 50 men to arms and started searhing the four men who had managed to rob the bank of the town. When Williamson heared that, he froze with fear because he knew that if he didn't manage to hide the money and his men, they would all get killed.So, he and his gang travelled almost 50km away from this town where they bought the planks - boards made of wood and started the construction of the house. After a week of hard work, they managed to complete it.Two days later, a member of the gang went to a saloon in the town where he found out that Bill was wanted for a reward of $5.000. Bill knew that he couldn't stay there any longer. After a couple of hour's thinking, he decided to take $10.000 and leave the state forever. His gang thanked him for everything he had done for them and let him go.Sadly or hopefully one might think, 5 days later the gang was told that their leader was arrested and hanged by the New Orlean's police sherrif. They all felt very sad but pleased at the same time that their leader had left them with a safe place to hide and $40.000 in their pockets!Interesting kind of a house someone might say, but not as interesting as the story behind it.
