- Yes I am, the first amendment in the constitution protects the right of freedom of speech. this is how the constitution protects us. The constitution makes sure that we are being treated fairly with giving us basic rights.
- It also protects the right of freedom of religion, and press, assembly, and petition.
- Hey! You aren't allowed to say that.
- The constitution contains other things that protect us, like in this way. There are 10 total amendments that were passed into law.
- There is a whole system called checks and balances, which makes sure each of the 3 government branches do not gain too much power, and the system keeps people from passing laws without a good amount of representation.
- What keeps random people with power to pass any unfair laws then?
- People like you and I are allowed to vote. Voting allows us to gain representation in politics, it really help with making sure that us ordinary citizens have representation in stuff like this.
- How am I represented then? I want to have a say in what laws can be passed.
