- "Zaphod," he drawled, "great to see you, you're looking well, theextra arm suits you. Nice ship you've stolen. "Oh, Zaphod, this is a friend of mine, Arthur Dent," he said, "I savedhim when his planet blew up," said Ford.
- "Ford, hi, how are you? Glad youcould drop in," said Zaphod.
- Important Quote: "I wish you'd stop sulking about that bloody planet."
- "We've met in a party 6 month ago on earth," said Arthur sharply.
- "Hi Arthur, glad you could make it. "
- "You'll have to remind me, I have a really terrible memory"

- Ford is greeted by Zaphod. Ford, not to be outdone, casually introduces Zaphod to Arthur as his "semi-cousin," and is taken aback when Arthur informs him that introductions are unnecessary. Arthur and Zaphod have already met, at a party in Islington six months ago.
- "He gatecrashed a party," persisted Arthur, trembling with anger."
- "But what were you doing there
- "You'll have to remind me, I have a really terrible memory"

- "At this party," persisted Arthur,"was a girl... oh well, look itdoesn't matter now. The whole place has gone up in smokeanyway..."

- Zaphod approached Arthur while he was talking to a "beautiful, fascinating, devastatingly clever" female when he inquired whether she was bored with him. "I'm from a different planet," he said, inviting her to talk to him instead. Arthur didn't see her again after that.
- "Oh just somebody. Well alright, I wasn't doing very well with her.I'd been trying all evening. Hell, she was something though. Beautiful,charming, devastatingly intelligent, at last I'd got her to myself for abit and was plying her with a bit of talk when this friend of yoursbarges up and says Hey doll, is this guy boring you? Why don't youtalk to me instead? I'm from a different planet." I never saw heragain."
