- In this scene, Josh and dad are playing basketball...
- While playing, dad collapses to the ground and Josh tries to give him cpr
- Mom and Josh took dad to the hospital and got the news that he's in a coma. The doctor says that Josh should try to talk to dad so he tries by asking questions. Dad wakes up and answers his question. They celebrate Christmas in the hospital near dad with friends and family. After, dad says he wants JB and Josh to always be there for each other, so JB starts crying and mom takes him to go for a walk. So Josh and dad sit in silence, finally, dad broke the silence and agrees to ask and answer questions back and forth.
- The phone rings and mom answers it, she tells JB and Josh that dad had another heart attack at the hospital and she would see them at the championship game. But JB hops on his bike and follows her. Josh is now at the game and is doing warm-ups. Mom texts Josh that dad is having complications but he's gonna be fine. "Just one more game. I think my father is dying." (pg 220)
- After winning the game Josh found out from an article in the "daily news" that Chuck unfortunately dad has died from a massive heart attack."Last night I felt like I was fading away as I watched the starless Portland trailblazers get stomped by my dad's favorite team, the Lakers." (pg 229)
- At the funeral for dad, Alexis called and Josh was surprised that she called. She invited him to his favorite team's game.
