Storyboard Text

  • Crete was once one of the most powerful kingdoms because of the incredible inventions created by Daedalus for King Minos. But the king and his people had a terrible problem. A bloodthirsty beast was rampaging through Crete. The Minotaur - a creature half-man half-bull - was killing the civilians of King Minos' kingdom.
  • Daedalus was set with the task to build a labyrinth so complicated that once the Minaroar was led in he could never find a way out. The only problem is how to feed the creature. Minos decided to demand tribute from the peoples he has conquered in the form of humans - young men and women to be fed to the Minotaur as sacrifices.
  • Meanwhile, in Athens, fourteen young Athenians were being selected for the journey to Crete and Theseus - son of King Aegeus - was determined to be one of them. Theseus persuades his father to allow him to go to Crete, with the aim of killing the Minotaur to stop the sacrifices from being made.
  • Theseus and the others arrived in Crete. The evening before Theseus was sent into the labyrinth King Minos's daughter - Ariadne - came to their cell to offer assistance. She gave Theseus a sword and a ball of thread. The thread would enable Theseus to find his way back through the labyrinth.
  • The next day, Theseus was sent into the labyrinth armed with his sword and Ariadne's string . He battled hard with the Minotaur when finally he defeated him!
  • Theseus returned to Athens to celebrate finally defeating the Minataur.
