- Peter came to Jesus and asked, Lord, how many times shall I forgive? Up to seven? Jesus replied, Not seven times, seventy-seven!
- Lord, how many times shall I forgive? Up to seven?
- Not seven times, seventy-seven times!
- Jesus taught Peter about the story of The Unforgiving Servant. He said the Kindom of Heaven is like a king because God will forgive you if you forgive others like good kings would.
- The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who wanted to settle his accounts with his servants.
- A man was brought to the king and he couldn't repay his debt so his family would be sold. The servant claimed that he would pay back everything and be patient. The King took pity on him.
- Jesus explained that the King's servant went back to his house and blackmailed his servant for money so he could pay the king back. But the servant didn't have the goods so he was thrown in prison.
- That servant left the kingdom and went straight to his house and demanded one of his servants that he would pay him back for the silver coins he owes.
- His servant didn't have the money so he had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt.
- The other servants had overheard him sending his servant to jail and they told their master. He was furious so he sent his servant to prison as it would be fair since he threw his attendant into prison.
- When the other servant had seen what had happened and they told the King.The King was outraged because he cancelled all of his servant's debt for him but he didn't. In fury, the King handed the man over to the jailers to be tortured.
- Jesus told Peter, This is how my heavenly father will treat you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.
- This is how my heavenly father will treat you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.
