The animals are sinking to the bottom because they are remains...
First, the remains of animals and plants fall to the ocean floor. Next sand builds up over the remains. A cap rock keeps oil trapped in the earth.
How Oil Is Pumped
People drill trhough the cap rock and pump crude oil to the surface. Oil refineries heat crude oil to produce fuels. Many products are made from oil.

How Oil Is Pumped
Caution!!! HOT!
In this picture, the animals remains are sinking down to the bottom of the "ocean" floor. They will get covered in sand and that will turn into cap rock. Crap rock gets hard and traps the oil and natural gasses deep in the earth.
How Oil Is Used
Oil can be used for things like, house fires, or some house furniture. It can aslo be used for some clothes.
Next, the workers use the oil rig to drill down into the cap rock and suck out the crude oil.
The Conflict
The oil goes into a very hot machine and gets changed into other materials. Those materials are used to make things to sell.
Solving The Conflict
Some of those things that the oil is made into are, house furinture like chairs, and couches, and even tables. Oil is also used to make plastic and gas. We use oil for cars and to power our cars.
A conflict is that oil is not distributed equally, therefore some countries will have plenty and others might not have enough. This can cause countries to fight over it.
STOPTo resolve the conflict/fighting we could try to split up the oil evenly or store it somewhere where anyone can use it if they need to.
