  • The current situationAround the 1900s Germany and Austria-Hungary were in an alliance. The Austrian-Hungarian empire held many ethnic groups inside its country such as Germans, Magyars (Hungarians) Czechs, Poles, Ruthenians (Ukrainians), Rumanians, Croats, Serbs, Slovaks, Slovenes, and Italians. They didn't treat all of these ethnic groups fairly so they held a grudge against them. Archduke Franz Ferdinand the Nephew of the Emperor went to Sarajevo.

Austrian-Hungarian government sent a list of impossible demands for Serbia to follow but they refused and then the Austrian-Hungarians teamed with Germany and started a war on July 28, 1914 with Serbia and the reason they had to team with Germany is because Serbia and Russia were allies. Russia was also allies with France, France and Germany also had a bad past.
  • When the war started Germany fought France and Germany tried to Invade France through Belgium a neutral country, then Britain got pissed that they tried to invade through Belgium then started helping out Russia, Serbia, France and Belgium.
