  • Once upon a time, there little sapling. He always dreamed of growing tall like his neighbors. The only problem was he didn't know how he could grow that tall, so he began to ask his neighbors.
  • Plants use special materials to make food for themselves so they can grow. It starts with the sun. that provides light energy. They also needs 6 carbon dioxide molecules (6 CO2). And 6 water molecules (6 H2O).
  • He was feeling green!
  • HAHAHA
  • Why did the leaf go to the doctor?
  • What kind of tree can you fit in your hand?
  • Photosynthesis occurs in the chloroplast in a cell. The first process that happens is called the light dependent cycle. The water molecules go through the stem and go into a thylakoid stack called grana. The light energy from the sun and the water create ATP and NADPH, which will be used in the next stage. The oxygen molecules are also released in this process.
  • Tell me the story! Tell me the story!
  • Okay! Plants use special materials to make food for themselves...
  • The next process is called the Calvin Cycle. Using the energy created in the first process, the ATP and NADPH react with the 6 CO2 to create glucose, C6H12O6. And since the ATP and NADPH is renewable, they become ADP and NADP+ until they need to be used again.
  • P
  • C6H12O6
  • It was late by the time the little sapling's neighbors explained the process of photosynthesis. They talked all night and day, and those days became weeks, and weeks became nights, and the little sapling became a tree.
  • A palm tree!
  • A few years later, a new sapling emerged, and like the little sapling once was, he was curious. The new sapling wanted to grow strong and tall like the rest of the forest. So began the story all over again...
