- Event 2
- Where are you?!! Today I'm going to beat him up!!!

- Douglass collapsed while working and Covey came and beat him up with a large stick. Douglass then goes to his old Master's house where Master Auld tells him to go back to Covey
- Climax
- HUH?!?! He's not supposed to fight back!!!
- After returning from his old master's house Douglass is pursued by Covey carrying a hickory stick so Douglass decides to hide.
- Resolution
- He's not worth the trouble
- While hiding, another slave invited Douglass to have dinner with him and his free wife. At the fellow slaves house, Douglass receives a herb from his new "friend". If Douglass carries around the herb no Master will ever hit him again.
- Thank You My Friend
- Take this herb and keep it next to your right side and no one will ever beat you up again
- YOU WILL TREAT ME RIGHT!!!!
- The herb works for a few days. But then one day Douglass went to feed the horses and Covey attacked him. But this time Douglass fought back and told Covey to treat him right.
- In the 6 months after the big fight, Covey never laid a finger on Douglass again.
