- Mom, what does it mean to be Baptized?
- It's a busy week for the Smith family! They are getting ready to baptize baby Georgie! Confused over all the commotion, Annabelle doesn't know what this all means. Annabelle asks her mother what Baptism means.
- Well Annabelle, Baptism is one of the seven sacraments. It celebrates the welcoming and initiation into the community of Christianity. Little Georgie here is going to be entering a new life, where he follows in the life of Jesus.
- Intrigued, Annabelle wanted to know what happens during Baptism..
- The ritual that occurs during Baptism is that the person gets immersed into the water. Water is actually a very important symbol of Baptism. The priest says "I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." And from there, that person has entered a new life with their Christianity journey.
- Well, what do you have to do to get Baptized
- Well Annabelle, the youth would want to get baptized because it is a symbol of what God has done for us. A big benefit you can get from baptism is that you can begin your journey with God and his footsteps. This also builds your deeper faith.
