  • First Advantage of the North
  • That's great! The Northern states have nearly 23 million people.
  • Hello! Spy Reynolds reporting back to headquarters. Southern census reports there's only 9 million in the 11 Confederate states, 3.5 million of whom are slaves.
  • Second Advantage of the North
  • Good job on meeting today's quota. At this rate, we'll be producing all the war firearms.
  • It was not a problem. The North is so much more advanced in industry than the South. The South doesn't even have one rifle factory!
  • Third Advantage of the North
  • Not a Confederate ship in sight!
  • The North had more people to fight on their side of the war. The difference between the North's population and the South's was around 14 million.
  • First Advantage of the South
  • YOU GUYS NEED TO HURRY IT UP! OUR SOLDIERS NEED THIS FOOD!
  • The North had enormous industrial advantages. They manufactured over 90% of all necessary items for war, such as boots, cloth, and firearms.
  • Second Advantage of the South
  • The North also controlled the Navy. The seas were in the hands of the Union.
  • Third Advantage of the South
  • I don't know where we're going.
  • Turn around!
  • ATTACK FOR THE SOUTH!!!
  • The South could produce all the food they needed because of its miles and miles of farmland.
  • The South had a great nucleus of trained officers.
  • The South was fighting on the defensive on their own land to protect their way of life. Since they were familiar with the landscape, Confederate soldiers could easily harass Northern invaders.
