Don’t you find it super interesting when you notice a certain pattern of people with certain similarities also having similar tendencies or tastes?
You’re telling me that anthropology also studies the patterns of current cultural human developments?
Yeah, I’m taking an anthropology course right now and I would have never thought of it beyond it being simply the study of human development and biological history if not for it.
I actually have noticed more recently how social cultural anthropology can be very visible when out in a big public area.
I also just pictured it as the simple study of the biological progression of humans.
Haha that’s exactly what it felt like when learning that anthropology expands to linguistic and cultural studies and not just biological or archaeological as it’s mostly identified as.
I thought it was just the study of the human origins in like a biological level or how cultures around the world ended up being created.
No Kidding! Hearing this sounds like one of those “Did you know” memes where you end up learning something new you wouldn’t have ever known where in reality was really obvious or simple and yet it makes you question your perception.
It was really interesting to understand how it helps create systems that include a variety of individualities as it studies all human development throughout societies and cultures including languages, customs, social relationships, technology and even material items.
