- Good evening, guys! Today we are joined by the one and only, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) to talk about her movement to a better future; The Green New Deal.
- Hi, everyone! Thank you for having me. It's my pleasure.
- So what The Green New Deal is, it is a resolution that recognizes the scale of the climate crisis and provide a roadmap to evaluate policies that can protect our planet and uplift our communities.
- The floor is yours, Rep. AOC. What is The Green New Deal?
- Sorry, let me clarify and expound that part. It's actually more than that. The Green New Deal is a framework for a comprehensive and ambitious plan to combat climate change by creating millions of high-wage jobs in new green industries, transition our energy system and building new infrastructure.
- So when you say, "protect our planet and uplift our communities", is this just another plan that pushes the investment of millions or probably billions of dollars on solar panels and wind turbines?
