  • THE EVOUTION OF PHILIPPINE POLITICS
  • Hi guys for today our group will be sharing our thoughts about "THE EVOLUTION OG PHILIPPINE POLITICS"
  • With the arrival of Spanish immigrants, a period of Spanish exploration began, culminating in the founding of the Philippine Cataincy General, centered in Manila. While the Philippines were nominally part of New Spain, they operated on their own for the most part.
  • Early governments in what is now the Philippines were small institutions known as barangays, with some larger governments arising as a result of regional trade networkers following the advent of Hinduism and Islam.
  • The Philippines' politics are organized around a presidential representation and a democratic republic, with the president serving as both the head of state and the head of government in a multi-party system.
  • The three independent but interconnected branches of government are the legislative branch, executive branch, and judicial branch. The government, under the guidance of the president, exercises executive authority.
  • The administration, as well as the bicameral congress—the senate (upper house) and the house of representatives—have legislative authority (lower house).
  • The new constitution was proclaimed, adopted, and went into force on February 11, 1987. The Philippines is declared a "democratic and republican state."
  • Following Marcos' declaration of martial law, the 1973 law was designed to usher in a parliamentary-style administration.
  • The Supreme Court of the Philippines is the highest judicial body in the Philippines, having judicial power.
  • Finally, there's the Aquino III administration: President Benigno Aquino III had definite intentions for structural transformation, although other suggestions were put forward by various members of Congress. Senator Pimentel's Senate Resolution No. 10 called for constitutional reform to turn the country to a federal republic.
  • And that will be all about The evolution of Philippine politics for our groups reporting, thank yo for listening.
