- NIxon handed over the tapes but there were 18 minutes of missing footage that seemed to be erased, when they asked Nixon´s secretly she said she accidentally erased some footage when transcribing it. This was clearly a cover up for something bigger, and they eventually publicly sold 800 copies of the 3-hour tape. These tapes revealed how Nixon wanted and how he would take down his political opponents.

- The tapes´ vulgar were seen by the public as an outrage. The vulgar words being said showed how rude and condescending the government officials where. This caused for a lot of people to agree that Nixon should be impeached but before he could be impeached he resigned.
