- Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act of 1830, forcing thousands of Native American tribes to move west.
- The Panic of 1837
- We're BROKE!
- Jackson's goal was to stabilize government finances. In 1835, he was able to achieve that goal and for the first time, the U.S federal government was free of debt.
- Annexing Texas
- Texas is mine!
- In May of 1836, Jackson signed a law creating and funding the oceanic United States Exploring. This expedition was a major step in science.
- Jackson's new policies on the economy lead to a major depression. One that lasted until the mid-1840s.
- In 1845, Jackson declared that the Republic of Texas had become a part of the United States. Resulting in the Mexican-American War.
