- Atticus is a ****** lover!
- In this part of chapter 7 another object appears in the knothole, two figures carved in soap to resemble Scout and Jem. The figures are followed in turn by chewing gum, a spelling bee medal, and an old pocket watch. The next day, Jem and Scout find that the knothole has been filled with cement and when they ask Boo Radleys brother he tells them that he plugged the knothole because the tree was dying.
- Chapter 10
- During this part in chapter 8 Atticus wakes up Scout and they see that Miss Maudie's house is on fire. The neighbors help her save her furniture, and the fire truck arrives in time to stop the fire from spreading to other houses, but Miss Maudie’s house burns to the ground.
- In this part of Chapter 9 on Christmas day Atticus takes his family to Finch's landing. where Atticus’s sister, Alexandra, and her husband live. At Finch's landing Scout meets Francis, Alexandra's grandson. One night, Francis makes some disrespectful comments about Atticus and Scout beats up Francis
- During this part of chapter 10 a mad dog appears Calpurnia calls Atticus, who returns home with Heck Tate, the sheriff of Maycomb. Heck brings a rifle and asks Atticus to shoot the animal. Despite Atticus not shooting a rifle in over 30 years, he hits the dog first try.
