- Devin is a senior in High School at Turlock High School. Everyone thinks that he is weak and comes from a poor family. But he is very athletic and loves to play sports.
- Meeting His Mentor
- I want you to go because me and your mother want you to go to college and be successful
- I know, the only way I can go to college is through a scholarship
- Devin was sitting in his room when his dad came in and said " I just signed you up for baseball."
- Crossing the Threshold
- The day of tryouts came and Devin was a nervous wreck. He felt sick and hid in his dad's RV.
- Tests/Allies/Enemies
- But Devin's dad found him hiding and talked him into going to tryouts.
- Devin tried out for the postion of pitcher. The next week the schedule was posted and Devin made the team. His first game was in 6 days.
- Devin made the team but, he had to practice. Devin mainly started lifting weights and he also played catch and started hitting with his dad.
