Storyboard Text

  • Identity theft is when someone steals your personal information. She could have also detected identity theft by being called about past bills, a package being delivered that she didn't order, or a transaction being declined.
  • Oh no! Where did my purse go? I swear I left it right here on the door. NOOOOOOO. There is my purse, but someone stole my credit card out of my purse.
  • I need to do something quick before I am a victim of identity theft.
  • The steps she thought of to defend herself are the steps everyone should take when they are a victim of identity theft to defend themselves.
  • The first step I need to do is defend myself against identity theft by calling all 3 companies (Equifax, TransUnion, Experian) and then order a credit report. After that I need to create an identity theft report.
  • Now I can go to work, because I have my account frozen and have filed a police report. I will also remember to never leave my purse hanging on the door right inside the house.
  • Some other steps she can take to deter against identity theft is be aware of your surroundings at an ATM, store personal information in a safe place, review your annual bank and credit statements, and shred any documents not worthy of keeping.
