  • The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street . Fear and suspicion are destructive
  • One major theme of The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling is that fear and suspicion are destructive.One example that supports this theme is that Les the Goodman car was the only car in the neighborhood who's car was working and everyone thought he was the monster by saying things like he always been strange and he didn't come out of his house to hear what that sound was. All of the residents went to Mr. Goodman's house and asking him if he was the monster.This is one pieces of evidence that shows that they are fear and suspicion are detective you can find this pieces of evidence on page 76. Other example is when Tommy shout it the monster when they see something coming there way. Then Charlie shoot him, just to find out it was there neighbor Pete Van Horn. Pages 83 is where you can find this piece of evidence.The next pices of evidences is when Charlie started to blame Tommy and he said it must be the kid he knew that there were monster and then everyone stared chasing him. In conclusion we should never suspicion or destructive nobody even if they are in your neighborhood.
