- 250 million sperm enter the vagina 99 % die within thirty minutes sperm is destroyed by deadly acids

- 60,000 remaining must navigate through the cervix located at the far end of vagina sperm must swim single file through small channels
- Fallopian tube
- 3000 sperm remain, they must navigate through the uterus and to the fallopian tube sperm attacked by leukocytes
- fertilization
- doorway to the fallopian tube sperm must show propper swiming characstics to be allowed through
- sperm go in one by one and show the proper way of swimming
- 10-30 sperm remain sperm are provided with nourishment from fallopian tube so the sperm could live for hours or even days
- sperm being provieded with nourishment
- the remaining sperm attempt to find the egg the sperm makes contact with the other coat of the egg of enzymes on its head. they travel back to uterus and implant
- sperm have reached the upper fallopian tube and have found the egg
