The sheep has its eyes more on the side of its head while the dog Has its eyes more on the front of its head, in fact this is true for most prey and predator animals.

The same thing happened with the very first predetors where there where born with a mutation that made thier eyes move more to the front of thier heads and that made them able to follow and focus on prey easier so it was easier to catch food so they lived longer and passed thier mutation on to thier children.

Mutations are essentailly an error that happens when DNA replicated, lets look at these two animals for an example of mutations that happened a long time ago.
Others aren't noticeable or arent expressed in the phenotype...
Slide: 8
Unfortunatly however the vast majority of mutations cuase cancers and diseases.
Slide: 9
This is becuase a long time ago the very first plant herbavours where born with a mutation that shifted thier eyes more to the side of thier heads and that helped them be able to see predetors coming from the sides and so they could survive longer and eventually be able t pass on that mutation to thier children.
This doesnt mean that mutations are inherantly bad however as mutations led to the evolution of every animal and person to ever live.
Slide: 10
To recap: mutations are errors that happen when DNA gets copyed, prey animals mutated to have eyes on the side of thier head while predators mutated to have eyes on the front of thier head, some mutations arent helpfull or harmful and others arent notacable but most are harmful, but mutations led every animal and human alive.
